This season BAYFA had two association teams make the jump to select soccer.
Express FC (currently 8-1-1), and BAYFA FC (currently 3-3-1) are playing in the Arlington Premier League. Both of these teams have been association teams for several years, with some of the players playing at least 10 years in our association. This year they took the step up for increased competition and growth and development opportunities.
Coaches as you reach select age and beyond, please consider this an option for your players and teams instead of letting them get split apart and moved to seperate select teams with a much higher cost.
Both of the BAYFA teams are competing with a per player budget of around what it costs you to play two seasons of rec and indoor each year, and it could be done a little cheaper.
Please get with your commissioner or Darren West to see what the association can do to help you through this process (paperwork, procedures, team bugets, practice space, uniforms, skills training...etc).
We would like to be able to offer higher level play within the association while keeping the costs affordable so as to not prevent participation by any of the skilled players that are in our association and area.
Select play is not for everyone, but if this is something that makes sense in your situation, lets work together to make it a positive experience for all.
